The 9 Mistakes That (Almost) All Christian Singles Make – And What to Do About It

The Big Lie.

People say it different ways.

It usually starts out: “As long as you honor God with your substance… ” And then they finish it with…

“… God will reward you with a wonderful spouse.”

“… you can claim your marriage partner.”
“… and have a marriage made in heaven.”

And so on.

Well, part of it is true.
Some people appear to have things easy. They don’t face the same struggles regular people do.

But for the vast majority of single men and women I have come across, the story is different. It’s been a continuous battle and they are fed up with the single life and the dating game.

Years ago Dr. Neil Clarke Warren, founder of eHarmony.com, made the observation that millions of singles would love to get married – but only if they could live happily and forever with their partners.

And the truth is:

The whole frustrating, exhilarating, maddening, crazy game of dating has left many confused, baffled and hopeless.

This is hard to swallow for most Christian singles.

Especially when they’ve always been told that as long as you live a decent Christian life and look presentable that you are all set.

It should break your heart to see that many have been living decently for years … but they are suddenly waking up to discover that while they are rapidly approaching the proverbial age of 40, the hope of a happy marriage seems to be receding … like a mirage as the years go by.

Why is this so?

There are 9 deadly mistakes that almost all singles are making … in a desperate attempt to meet and settle down with their godly spouse.

*** Mistake #1 

Having idols in the heart

This is one of the biggies. Please pay close attention here. In the Bible, anything that takes the place of God in your heart is an idol. God wants to have first place in your life. Especially when it comes to the issue of a godly spouse. HE has already kept His best for you. And you have to go to Him in prayer to find out.

And herein lies the danger …

If you go to God with your mind already made up about someone you want and then you just ask Him to “rubberstamp” your preference for you … by asking Him to show you if that person is your godly spouse, you will most likely hear the voice of your own emotions echoed back to you … and NOT really God’s voice.

In this case, God can even say YES if He sees that in your heart of hearts you’ve already made up your mind!

The Bible actually says that if you come to God with an “idol” in your heart He will answer you according to what you have in your heart.

*** Mistake #2
Ignoring your vehicle of destiny

Your vehicle of destiny is a certain skill, talent, attribute or gift that God has given you … by means of which He will deliver His best for your life, including your godly spouse.

For some it is hospitality. For others it is the milk of human kindness. For others it is the ability to be persistent in the face of all odds.

Yours could be spiritual or physical.

Maybe the ability to sing. Or help others in one way or the other. It is supposed to be your most dominant attribute. But if you don’t recognize it … and make full use of it, most of your blessings will be passing you by.

We see a good example of this in the Bible when we read the fascinating story of a young woman called Rebekah and how she got connected with her godly spouse.

*** Mistake #3 

Continuing to engage in any form of sex outside marriage

The Bible says clearly that our body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. We are warned against all form of sexual activity outside marriage.

When you violate this crucial spiritual principle, you literally give the devil license to put you in a spiritual cage.

No one can find you.

Or propose marriage.

You could still be walking around – as beautiful as ever – but in the spiritual realm the devil has already written something like “Not Available” right across your forehead.

*** Mistake #4 

Being ignorant of the mystery of spiritual marriage

There is something called spiritual marriage. So many singles who are unable to get married in the physical are already married to certain spirits as far as the spiritual world is concerned.
You will have a clue if you regularly have sex in the dream, or wake up feeling sexually aroused.

*** Mistake #5
Getting into ungodly associations

Ungodly associations such as consulting with astrologers, mediums, witches, occult people can lead you into forming soul ties with such people. What’s worse, they can plant a spiritual device in an individual to monitor her anywhere she goes. And when anything good is about to happen to that person an alarm is activated in the spirit realm and invisible powers are quickly assigned to abort it.

In the specific case of marriage and relationships, if and when the person happens to meet their godly spouse, an announcement goes out in the spirit realm to make sure the relationship is disrupted.
 At any cost!

*** Mistake #6 

Ignoring unbroken covenants

A covenant is an agreement binding on two or more parties. Some could be generational. Others could be as a result of one’s present activities.

There is a particularly important hidden covenant that doesn’t get mentioned all that often. You need to be aware of it when dealing with the subject of your godly spouse.

It is called the covenant with the first sexual partner.
A hidden but very powerful covenant is formed with the first person you had sex with. In fact it is a covenant of blood – very stubborn to break. And it can hinder many from getting married.

*** Mistake #7 

Dismissing the subject of unholy dressing

When Christians insist on dressing like the people of the world, they end up attracting the unwanted attention of spirit beings … who are enamoured by their sexy dressing… and insist on following them around in the spirit, fighting over them just like humans would.

Many singles praying for a spouse may end up driving away their God-ordained spouse unintentionally because these invisible powers following them around want them all to themselves … without any competition!

*** Mistake #8 

Ignoring the activities of evil manipulators

There are matchmakers in the spiritual world. Most of them evil. Their job is to provide counterfeit spouses. And manipulate people out of the will of God. Now, the Bible clearly warns against being unequally yoked together with unbelievers – in 2 Corinthians 6 verse 14.

*** Mistake #9 

Leaving unbroken curses in place

Many singles today come from cursed families or communities … where people never stay married, separation and divorce is the order of the day, etc. Even in some families, all the women never get married. Or marry late. Or have broken marriages.

Such people need to spiritually separate themselves from such backgrounds. And then begin to pray in earnest.

 Evil marriage is a deep subject. It affects many people. Let’s get a piece of bad news out of the way before we get to the good news.

There are dream killers around!

For many people today, satan and his agents have worked very hard to replace their divine dreams with evil dreams and nightmares featuring fearful attacks and endless harassments.

Given that situation it is no big surprise that most people have all but forgotten the wonderful dreams they used to have as kids, and sometimes, as adults.

No wonder they are not making much progress in life.

The LORD will deliver our dream lives in Jesus’ name.

Now to the good news…

You are a product of your dreams. And the LORD wants to meet you in your dreams all over again.

He wants to restore to you the keys to open locked doors that the enemy has (most likely) stolen from you already.

 He wants to give you the secret to His treasures in your dreams… just as He did to the notable historical figures we’ve just seen here.

How will He do it?

 “And it shall come to pass afterward

That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

 Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

Your old men shall dream dreams,

Your young men shall see visions.

And also on My menservants and on My maidservants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days.

See the exact same scripture in the New Testament:

But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. You always want to pay closer attention when you see something repeated like this in both Old and New Testaments. Here the phrase “old men” prophetically refers to people (male and female) who possess the kind of wisdom usually associated with gray-haired old men.

THE LABOUR ROOM OF SEPTEMBER

ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: ISAIAH 66:7-9: “Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child. Who hath heard such a thing? Who hath seen such things?”
(that means, the things God is about to do, or make happen in your life would be an amazement to everyone that hears it)
 “Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children…” (Yes, you are to play your part in that spiritual equation by travailing in prayers to prevail in September) “Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the Lord: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.”

 The ninth month is a very significant month because of inherent powers in Figure 9. The ninth month is a turn-around month, if handled properly and spiritually. Dr. Daniel Olukoya is one of the most gentle and humble, and most dangerous spiritually, that I have ever met. God bless his effectual and revelational ministry. It was him that God used to trigger the abundance of spiritual revelations concerning 9-9-9, with prayers birthed and spiritual exercises to wrap up that day.

 One of the properties and characteristics of the ninth month is the fact that it is the gestation period for human pregnancy. Human pregnancy from conception to full term is nine months. The forces of wickedness tap into this truth to control, steal, kill and destroy many human destinies. We have a spiritual obligation to make September produce a bundle of joyful testimonies for our own destinies.

 The month of September in another sense is what I called, a “LABOUR-ROOM MONTH”, because, after full term gestation period, some things either positive or negative, must be given birth to. More about the characters and spiritual properties of figure 9 can be read from Dr. Olukoya’s message on that subject.

 If you have ever been to the maternity, the most common language of the labour room is “PUSH!” I welcome you to the LABOUR ROOM of September. Lift up your right hand and with a voice of a conqueror; pull the spiritual trigger by saying this prayer: BLOOD OF JESUS! FIGHT FOR ME IN THE LABOUR ROOM OF SEPTEMBER! In the name of Jesus.

 In spiritual labour room too, the battle cry of warriors too is PUSH, meaning: Pray Until Something Happen (P.U.S.H).

 September is not just a neutral month, September is a personality with a womb. The bible tells us in Psalm 110:3 that the morning is a personality with a womb, not just a neutral entity. Now sow a positive seed into the womb of September by prophetically declaring: Thou womb of September, produce a bundle of joyful testimonies for my life! In the name of Jesus.

 Many months were named after idols. For example, January was named after the Greek goddess of the sun, Janus. If you are careless to enter January which was consecrated by those who worshipped the sun, the elements could be used by these wicked forces to control your life throughout that year. They could command the sun to smite you by day and the moon by night. No month is a neutral entity. You must programme better and glorious things into them, if you must live a fulfilled life. Don’t be a careless Christian!

Three major possibilities occur in the physical labour room of a maternity.

 The pregnant woman goes in, and come out with an additional bundle of joy called child or children, if the babies are twins, triplets, etc. That is a positive multiplication;
 The pregnant woman goes in, and come out alone, with a sad subtraction – no child due to still-birth or other tragic complications during childbirth.
 The third possibility is the tragic maternal mortality of when a pregnant woman goes in but neither child nor mother came out alive. This is the reason why many tremble with trepidation as the Expected Delivery Date (EDD) approaches.

Now travail with this battle cry again: BLOOD OF JESUS! FIGHT FOR ME IN THE LABOUR ROOM OF SEPTEMBER! In the name of Jesus. 
Just like the physical labour room of any maternity, the following nine things, among many others, are the characteristics:
 The labour room of September is a place of expectations (both positive and negative, the choice is yours to make)

• The labour room of September is a place of conflict and warfare. 
• The labour room of September is a place of life and death. (the choice is yours to make). 
• The labour room of September is a place of joy and sadness (the choice is yours to make). 
• The labour room of September is a place of fear and faith (the choice is yours to make). 
• The labour room of September is a place of addition and subtraction (the choice is yours to make). 
• The labour room of September is a place of harvest. 
• The labour room of September is a place where the spiritual midwife (that is, prayer warriors) is in charge, and finally; 
• The labour room of September is a place of the blood. 

Shout this again loud and clear: BLOOD OF JESUS! FIGHT FOR ME IN THE LABOUR ROOM OF SEPTEMBER! In the name of Jesus. 
Say: September is my Expected Delivery Date, therefore, O God Arise! Protect and defend my harvest of great testimonies, in the name of Jesus. 

 Every prayer warrior is a midwife of the midnight season. I wish you would add the fireworks of the September labour room to your midnight hour prayers for the remaining days in September. No midwife goes to sleep in the labour room, else that slumber can cause tragic consequences. The labour room is a theatre of battle.

There are evil powers that allow people to dream and nurture testimonies but wait for them at the maturity date to shatter those beautiful dreams.

 Say this with aggression in your spirit: Every power waiting to abort my miracle at the time of my testimonies. You are a LIAR! DIE!!! in the name of Jesus.

3. Dark expectations for my destiny, be aborted now by fire! In the name of Jesus. 
4. Thou womb of September, hear the word of the Lord: bring forth my turn-around breakthroughs, in the name of Jesus. 
5. Witchcraft powers waiting for my loss in the labour room of September, you are a LIAR! DIE! in the name of Jesus. 
6. Witchcraft powers waiting for my death in the labour room of September, you are a LIAR! DIE in my stead! in the name of Jesus. 
7. September is my Expected Delivery Date, therefore, O God Arise! Protect and defend my harvest of great testimonies, in the name of Jesus. 
8. Every power waiting for my failure, hear the word of the Lord: You shall wait in vain! In the name of Jesus. 
9. Every power assigned to assault me at the edge of my breakthrough, I am not your candidate. Therefore DIE! in the name of Jesus. 
10. Every power programmed to quench the battery of my destiny, you are a LIAR! Die!!! in the name of Jesus. 
11. Unfriendly friends! Lose your power over my life, in the name of Jesus. 
12. Wrath of God, strike through every evil king that presides over September, in the name of Jesus.
